WhatsApp has been focusing on multi-device support for months now. The social media giant is finally launching the feature for Android and iOS, which permits you to log into multiple devices without linking to your smart phone.
Last time if you wanted to use WhatsApp on a different device, you would have to be linked your smart phone online for using, WhatsApp on your secondary device, for example your laptop for linking. This limitation will now be abolished from WhatsApp, permitting you to use your account on multiple devices without the need of your smart phone.
Your WhatsApp account can only be linked to WhatsApp Desktop or WhatsApp Website as you are unable to link to a secondary smartphone or tablet at the moment. But we expect this feature will be added in the future.

For using this feature, you have to choose the beta test in the “Linked Devices” option at the top right settings menu. Once you reached there then you will definitely be unlinked from all your devices before linking to a new device. When you will link to another device, it will behave in the similar way just like WhatsApp Web, but you will not have any need of your smartphone for staying online anymore.
Linked devices will be capable of sending and receiving messages and make calls for 14 days after your smartphone gets offline. This is very useful when you do not have any access to your smart phone for a while. The only limitation on iOS is that you can not be able to delete messages or entire conversations via a linked device.
The latest update is available to everyone. Just Make sure your WhatsApp is updated to the latest version. After that you have simply go into the option of “Linked Devices” for proceeding further.
