Jabra is using CES 2022 to deliver our attention to the most modern member of its Elite family of real wireless earbuds: The $119 Elite 4 lively, a set of waterproof, active noise canceling (ANC) earbuds that fit between the $99 Elite 3 and the 180 Elite 7 active. They’re to be available on January three, built-in navy, black and light mint.
Like the greater costly Elite 7 energetic, Jabra says the Elite 4 active provide a secure and cozy fit without the need for hooks or wingtips, however, don’t expect the 4 active to be quite an as at ease because the 7 — they don’t have the 7’s ShakeGrip rubber coating. With an IP57 rating, but, the Elite four active have an equal stage of protection from water and dirt as the Elite 7 active.
Battery life looks very good. Jabra claims seven hours per charge in the earbuds, with a complete of 28 hours while you encompass the charging case. A 10-minutes short charge can give users an extra hour of playtime in a pinch.
As with Jabra’s other proper wireless earbuds, the Elite four active have a transparency mode that lets you bring the outdoor World in, whether for a fast verbal exchange or preferred protection doubtlessly unsafe places like busy intersections. Sound quality is superb if other Jabra buds are any indication, and Jabra has integrated support for each AAC and aptX Bluetooth format.
Android proprietors get some high-quality extra functions with the Elite four active, like a simplified set-up procedure thanks to Google’s speedy Pair tech, and a desire for a built-in approach to Amazon Alexa, or Spotify tap, which lets you start a Spotify flow with just a built-in tap on an earbud.
Each earbud can be used independently for calls and music in mono mode. Wondering what you get with the more steeply-priced Elite 7 Active? The pricier buds get a barely longer battery life (8/30 vs. 7/28), the grippier outer layer, wireless charging, put on sensors that could auto-pause your track when you remove an earbud, and with a firmware update coming later in January, they’ll have Bluetooth Multipoint capability.
