Different ‘major brands’ are offering some kind of self employing robot vacuum and that includes Ecovacs with its latest model the Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro Plus.
DESIGN
The Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro there is no denying that, it is designed just like any other robot vacuum. Aesthetics are as cookie cutter, as they come and the only distinguishable aspect is its bluish paint job. It has the “mopping function”, that makes it stand out as the double duty model. Microfiber pad in particular is not like the skimpy pad, that other robot vacuums use and it actually has substance and to make the contact with the floor.
NAVIGATION
Technology called ‘The Lidar technology’ allows the Deebot N8 to efficiently clean and reducing time and maximizing its cleaning schedule. It managed to map out the different rooms in apartment or home as it was actively vacuuming. Corners are also handled very well, but it is worth pointing out how it also is pretty gentle. The different other obstacles it comes across during vacuuming.
OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE
It uses the laser based 3D technology, that Ecovacs refers to as True detect which gives it the version it vision to see what is front of it and to figure out the best way to get around it. This works intelligently vacuumed around the lone sock left on the floor, and it is also working well and avoiding the water bowls, if they placed on the floor. It can better distinguish thicker cable wires like those from the paper strips, or other large appliances but the skinnier ones are hit or miss.
CLEANING PERFORMANCE
It has the dual side sweeping brushes and it handles hard floors like champ. The small pieces of debris are gobbled up with no issues, but it can still can’t achieve the same level of deep clean as from the traditional upright vacuums, when it comes to carpets and rugs.
The final verdict is, it has something good going on with the $700 Deebot N8 pro plus. It is reliable and clean well does the double duty and even empties itself out on its own.
