A time when the 14 inch Chromebook convertible 2 in 1 with an Intel Core processor would turns some heads. It does not need the super fast CPU to be screaming machine and the tossing in 11th generation core i7, with 8 GB of RAM and more. It is becoming more common to see such a powerful chrome that hits the market and it is still worth nothing when one does. It is one such machine it fits the bill not only fast CPU but also up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 SSD. It has the pre-production sample unit of the Acer Chromebook spin 514 that are equipped with the low power core i5 1140G7 CPU, with 8 GB of RAM 256 GB SSD with 14 inch HD display 16:9 aspect ratio.
DESIGN
It is constructed entirely of metal and weight is just 3.02 pounds. The thickness is 0.68 inches and its chassis is moderately sized and display bezels are thin on top and bottom. The build quality even on preproduction model was solid with no bending or flexing in the lid, keyboard deck or chassis bottom. It created the conservative design with all silver chassis that has simple lines and angles. There is plenty of connectivity with the full size HDMI port and USB A port for legacy support and 2 USB C ports with 4 Thunderbolt.

PERFORMANCE AND DISPLAY
Acer Chromebook Spin 514 comes with the core i5 1140G7 and 8 GB of RAM inside and it promises to be very fast. It features the 14 inch full HD IPS multi touch display and it supports the Acer pen. Acer did not provide the specs on the display, Acer past chromebooks have done well enough in this department. The 2 upward firing speakers flank the keyboard and they put out decent volume, with just hint of distortion. The webcam is 1080p and it joining the slow growing trend away from grainy 720p video. The addition will make the chrome book spin 514 an effective video conferencing tool.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
It will be available on January 2022 that starting at $700. Intel core i3 1180G4 and range up to the core i7 1180G7 RAM tops out at 16 GB and storage at 512 GB SSD. A version of Acer chromebook spin 514 running the Media Tek 828 processor will be introduced in December 2021 at the starting price of $400.
